Early morning drive to river put-in point where we meet with our boat crew, and, after an important safety briefing, start rafting down the Trisuli river. The river is not technically difficult, so no experience is necessary. We start by running some small rapids where our raft guide will instruct us how to paddle in harmony to help him control the boat. Later on this day we run some very fun class III rapids. At mid-day we stop on a deserted beach for a leisurely picnic lunch, packed by our cook. An hour or so before sun-down we pull onto the beach where camp has been set up and the cook is preparing dinner. We camp overnight on the beach.

We sleep in a bit and get onto the river after breakfast, by which time the sun has warmed us up nicely. Full day rafting. On this night we have a small driftwood campfire on the beach and perhaps sample some raksi or local wine, bought from a nearby village.

We end our rafting adventure with a spectacular drive back to Kathmandu through Nepal's lowlands and central foothills, arriving in town in the late afternoon.
